<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new marker against prostate cancer and related cancers, and a method for identifying a therapeutic target. <P>SOLUTION: Disclosed is a polynucleotide encoding an 84P2A9-related protein and having a specific base sequence. The sequence of the polynucleotide is encoded by a cDNA included in a plasmid designated p129.1-US-P1 deposited with American Type Culture Collection as Accession No. PTA-1151.
