<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a honeycomb structure which is useful for a collection filter for exhaust gas, in particular, a diesel particulate filter (DPF) to collect particulate in an exhaust gas from a diesel engine, and capable of unifying the temperature rise outside and inside during the service and the regeneration, and effectively preventing occurrence of defects such as cracks caused by the thermal stresses, and adverse effects on a supported catalyst. <P>SOLUTION: The honeycomb structure 1 has a structure comprising a honeycomb segment joined body 10 in which a plurality of honeycomb segments 2 are integrally joined with each other on their joining surfaces across a joining material layer 9, and an outer circumferential coat layer 4 to cover the outer circumferential surface of the honeycomb segment joined body 10, while a plurality of cells 5 forming a fluid flow passage are arranged parallel to each other in the direction of the center axis. The honeycomb segments 2 are joined with each other across a joining material layer (a partial joining material layer) 9 arranged only on predetermined portions of the honeycomb segments 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
