ROTATION-LINEAR MOTION CONVERTING MECHANISM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation-linear motion converting mechanism having higher reliability and less backlash for efficiently producing great thrust.

SOLUTION: A revolving roller 22 having revolving roller grooves 21b-24b going around the outer peripheral face is torsionally arranged on a holder member 3 while rotatably meshing with a rack rod screw 1a of a rack rod 1 located in the center at a shaft angle greater than a rack rod screw lead angle. The holder member is rotated around the rack rod 1 with a motor 5 to give linear motion to the rack rod 1. Meshing set portions between the rack rod screw 1a and each of the revolving roller grooves 21b-24b are made into rolling contact for higher efficiency. The meshing portions are made planar and interference is suppressed in other portions to produce great thrust while securing higher reliability. The backlash is suppressed by assembling the revolving rollers 21-24 while giving torque to the rack rod screw 1 in the direction of increasing the shaft angle.
