摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor laser apparatus and a wavelength control method for improving the stability of the oscillation wavelength against temperature change without developing a new material or combining with a material other than a semiconductor. SOLUTION: This semiconductor laser apparatus comprises a wavelength variable semiconductor laser device 1 having two DFB regions with electrodes 107a and 107b formed therein, and a wavelength control region with an electrode 108 formed therein for generating a wavelength which is changed by injecting a current I<SB>Phase</SB>into the wavelength control region; a photodiode 2 for receiving the optical output of the semiconductor laser device 1; an optical output control circuit 3 for determining the value of the current injected into the semiconductor laser device 1, in accordance with the optical output received by the photodiode 2 so that the optical output of the semiconductor laser device 1 is kept constant; and a current distribution circuit 4 for distributing the current value of the injected current and determining the current values output to the electrodes 107a and 107b formed in the gain regions and the electrode 108 formed in the phase control region respectively.
