PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ladder having an auxiliary leg structure and an engaging structure which assures safe operation at high places at a construction site etc. SOLUTION: A ladder 1 is constructed of an engagement component 2 comprising a connecter formed with an engaging part containing an elongation part and an auxiliary plate installed between the connectors; an elongation ladder component 3 comprising an elongation shaft connected to the lower end of the engaging component 2 and a plurality of ladder plates; a ladder component 4 comprising an elongation shaft where the elongation ladder components 3 are connected to one another by a slide system and a plurality of ladder plates; an auxiliary leg shaft 6 installed on the side surface of the ladder component 4; a fixation component 7 vertically sliding on the auxiliary leg shaft 6; an open leg component 9 connected with the bottom of the auxiliary leg 6 by means of an open/close plate 6e; and an auxiliary leg component 5 composed of an auxiliary plate 8 connected so that it can vertically move up and down within the auxiliary leg shaft 6 and laterally move right and left within the open leg component 9.
