PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lid opener for opening a lid attached to a can, a bottle or the like capable of easily retaining the lid attached to the can, the bottle or the like and capable of easily opening the lid. SOLUTION: The lid opener of this invention for opening the lid attached to the can, the bottle or the like is equipped with a retaining member equipped with an enclosure which is made to touch slidably to the outer peripheral portion of the lid attached to the bottle, the can or the like and a turning member having a plurality of holes capable of freely operating a position which is made to insert through this retaining member, and a plurality of the above retaining members are attached to the turning member turnably. The lid is rotated in the opening direction by gripping a handle having the lid opener and by bringing the face of the side of the retaining section of this lid opener into contact with, for example, the top face of the lid attached to the bottle of which the lid is going to be opened. If it is carried out, the spacing of the retaining members becomes narrow by interlocking with that, the lid is opened by retaining the lid by slidably touching the side face of the lid attached to the bottle.
