The present invention relates to a method for tomographic reconstruction on the basis of an elliptic differential equation with unknown parameters ?, comprising (a) determining a boundary surface dO of an object which is filling a space domain O, (b) directing waves emitted from at least one source through the boundary surface dO into the object, (c) detecting intensities F (measured intensities) of waves emitted from the object's surface dO on a part of the boundary surface dO with at least one detector by using a plurality of measurements and (d) processing the measured intensities F of waves emitted from the object's surface to generate a tomographic image.
