The trap has a vertically arranged U-shaped pipe (3) and a straight pipe (1). The straight pipe is detachably connectable between the U-shaped pipe and a drain of sanitary equipment. The U-shaped pipe comprises two rigid pipe sections, and a flexible pipe section is connected with the two rigid pipe sections. The rigid pipe sections are designed for a detachable connection with the straight pipe and a bent pipe (4). An independent claim is also included for a U-shaped pipe for a trap.
