<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a container lid comprising a thin sheet metal shell and a synthetic resin packing for preventing a sealed condition from being damaged even if a considerable shock is applied to the shoulder area of the shell by improving a sealing method for sealing the container neck part of a container using the lid and improving a shock resisting characteristic. <P>SOLUTION: This container lid 2 is formed with an annular protrusion 16 protruding inward in the shoulder area of a shell 4. The protrusion is formed on the peripheral edge of a top face wall, and it is preferable that the same is facing the top face where a packing 6 is substantially extended horizontally.
