<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus preventing unnecessary image formation without adding a sensor. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 100 includes: a conveying path 104 extending from a paper feed cassette 101 and used to convey paper to a paper ejection tray 103 via an image forming section 102 used to record a requested image onto one side of the paper; a refeed mechanism 107 disposed downstream of the image forming section in the conveying path 104 and used to refeed conveyed paper to the image forming section 102 after inverting the paper back to front; and a refeed sensor SEN 3 for taking the timing of starting the drive of the refeed mechanism 107.
