METAL VAPOR DISCHARGE LAMP AND LIGHTING SYSTEM USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent appearance quality from being degraded due to adhesion of moisture or the like to the inside surface of an external tube.

SOLUTION: This metal vapor discharge lamp is provided with the external tube 2, having a closed part 6 at one end and having an opening 7 at the other end; an internal tube 3 housed in the external tube 2 and having an arc tube 4 arranged in an airtight space in the inside; and a base 5 fixed at the other end of the external tube 2 via an adhesive 29 so as to seal it from the outside air. Ventilation holes 31, for connecting the internal space located between the external tube 2 and and the internal tube 3 to the outside space located outside the external tube 2, are formed in the base 5.
