<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the accuracy of classifying input sentences containing a variety of expressions by making it possible to set the intention of a person who makes input for all action expressions included in a plurality of input sentences. <P>SOLUTION: An apparatus for analyzing sentences includes a word extracting part 104 for extracting at least modifying words, modified words and connecting words from input sentences; a modifying word intention information setting part 106 for setting modified word intention information showing the intention of a person who makes input, represented by directly attached words given to the modified words; an intention information pattern storage part 110 for storing a pattern of intention information where modified word intention information showing information on the intentions of the connecting words, the modified words and the modifying words is combined with modifying word intention information showing information on the intentions of the modifying words; and a modifying word intention information setting part 108 for setting, based on the pattern of intention information stored in the intention information pattern storage part, modifying word intention information showing the intention of the person to each of the modifying words in the input sentence. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
