PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the simple laser equipment that employs a sub-wavelength periodic lattice as a resonator to generate a laser beam and continuously varies the wavelength of the generated laser beam in a wide range of wavelength based on a simple principle called "mechanical pitch control". SOLUTION: This equipment has a resonator of sub-wavelength periodic lattices composed of gain materials and arranged at regular pitches, and an excitation light source for emitting an exciting light to the above resonator.
