PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely and smoothly transmit data of great capacitance in real time, without trouble such as moving image stop or image disturbance, by avoiding interference from another wireless communication system or the like in a wireless communication system corresponding to a plurality of frequency bands such as 5.2 GHz band and 2.4 GHz band. SOLUTION: It is judged whether a reception electric field strength is a reception sensitivity point or higher during communication using, as a communication channel, a radio channel selected within a frequency band which is communicable at a relatively high transmission rate. If the reception electric field strength is below the reception sensitivity point, it is judged whether or not the transmission rate can be changed lower so that the reception electric field strength becomes the reception sensitivity point or higher. If the transmission rate can be changed lower so that the reception electric field strength becomes the reception sensitivity point or higher, communication is continued after changing into that transmission rate.
