PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a private branch exchange system by which messages can be reliably communicated. SOLUTION: The private branch exchange system has an outside line circuit 5, an A/D converter 6, a digital switch 7, a digital data converter 8 which establishes signal connection with a voice mail system 4 in which a guidance message and a message are previously stored, a memory 13 in which the estimated time of emission, the emission interval, the response waiting time and the special program information are previously stored and a control circuit 12 which controls the whole. The system starts emission according to the estimated time of emission, checks responses during the response waiting time, transmits the guidance message from the voice mail system 4 to the other party if there is a response, checks the reception information with the special program information and transmits the message when they match each other.
