PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine a current location surely even when there is a branch road in the vicinity of an expressway main line, wherein the road direction of the two resemble each other. SOLUTION: When the current location is determined on the expressway main line, the navigation system redetermines the current location on a road branching off the expressway main line (a road to an SA/PA or a ramp to a general road) when the vehicle's speed is a predetermined value (for example, the speed limit of the branch road) or less and when there is no congestion on the expressway main line.
