TESTING OF AN INTERACTIVE VOICE RESPONSE SYSTEM

The application relates to testing of an audio-based interface system, also referred to as interactive voice response system or voice response unit. Prior art testing methods have been directed to testing the user interface of an application such as for example a banking application. The testing ensured that every message allowed for by the application is correctly generated or recognised. The application differs from this prior art in that the interactive voice response system (20) generates a prompt message which informs an operator what further message should be for a specific response message if said interactive voice response system (20) if functioning correctly. If the further message does not correspond with the specified response message, it is deduced that the system (20) is not functioning correctly.
