Provided is a pigment-containing thermosetting composition, which is amenable to an etching step, has excellent spectrometric characteristics, rectangular pattern forming characteristics and adhesion between an upper layer and a lower layer, and enables formation of a thin film. The pigment-containing thermosetting composition comprises a pigment dispersion obtained by dispersing a mixture of a thermosetting resin, a solvent and a pigment, wherein the pigment dispersion is present in such amount that the pigment content is equal to or greater than 50% and less than 100% based on the total solid content. The pigment-containing thermosetting composition optionally further comprises a curing catalyst for the thermosetting resin. The thermosetting resin may have an epoxy group.
