A device and a method for controlling output of speakers in a notebook computer are provided to enable a user to use only the stereo speaker or use the stereo speaker and a woofer speaker at the same time by linking the stereo speaker and the woofer speaker. A signal input part(540) selects a music and voice mode. A memory(520) stores audio data for the music and voice mode. A microcomputer(500) makes the audio database for the selected music and voice mode. A codec(100) encodes or decodes the audio data. A no-cut frequency stereo filter(310) filters the audio data for the voice mode. A no-cut frequency stereo filter(320) filters the audio data for the music mode. A woofer audio power amplifier(210) amplifies the audio data for the music mode. A switch input part(200) connects the no-cut/cut frequency stereo filter and the woofer audio amplifier according to the music or voice mode by switch control. A stereo audio power amplifier(340) amplifies the audio data for the music and voice data. The stereo speaker(350) outputs the audio signal amplified in the stereo audio amplifier.
