A metal socket, an insulating and waterproofing socket, a cable guide, and a socket for an EEFL(External Electrode Fluorescent Lamp) are provided to perfectly insulate and make a lamp and a cable waterproof at the both sides of the insulating and waterproofing socket with a single contractile cap. An EEFL socket(01) comprises a metal socket(16) and an insulating and waterproofing socket(04). A lamp(02) is inserted into one end of the EEFL socket, and a cable(35) is inserted into the other end of the EEFL socket. The insulating and waterproofing socket is composed of a first cylinder(05) corresponding to an external diameter of the lamp and a second cylinder(07) corresponding to an external diameter of the cable. The second cylinder has a smaller diameter than the first cylinder.
