A method for automatically converting volume by a schedule in a portable terminal is provided to automatically convert the sound volume of the sound output of each application program of the portable terminal according to an applied time zone of the schedule of a user. A control unit presets sound volume according to an application program, and generates a profile in which an applied time of the preset sound volume is preset(S100). The control unit judges whether the applied time of the generated profile arrives(S101-S104). When the applied time of the generated profile arrives, the control unit automatically converts a sound output during the application time into the preset sound volume to correspond to an executed application program when the corresponding application program is executed(S105-S107).
