A projection system is provided to effectively use the light irradiated from a light source and reduce the number of optical components. In plural light source members(300,330,360), light emitting members(302,332,362) are formed at substrates(301,331,371) installed separately with each other and irradiate light beams with different wavelengths. Plural light beam transmitting members(310,340,370) cover the light emitting members of each light source and transmit the light irradiated from each light source as the light beam with a square shape. Plural LCD(Liquid Crystal Display)s(320,350,380) transmit the light beams with different wavelengths. A light mixing member(390) mixes the light beams with different wavelengths transmitted from the plural LCDs. A projection lens(395) projects the light mixed by the light mixing member to a screen.
