A wheel mechanism for realizing the automatic mobile device with variable manipulability and a driving method thereof are provided to allow a user to drive the mobile device by selecting a driving mode appropriate for a road situation. A wheel mechanism for realizing the automatic mobile device with variable manipulability comprises a wheel steering system(E) and a driving system for steering and driving wheel; a mode setting module selecting one mode out of a 2-freedom degree receiving the forward and backward speed and the RPM value from an input device of the mobile device according to the choice of a driver and or a 3-freedom degree receiving the forward and backward speed, the side speed and the RPM value and controlling the wheel steering and the driving system; and a micro controller(C) abstracting the information of the 2-freedom degree or the 3-freedom degree for operating a set mode after selectively receiving the forward and backward speed and the side speed and the RPM value and controlling the wheel steering system and the driving system.
