An anti-dazzle screen of moulded plastic material for direct attachment to a fluorescent tube consists of lateral longitudinal walls 2, adapted to leave extensively exposed the surface of the fluorescent tube and formed integrally with transverse laminµ 3, and the screen is adapted to be supported on a horizontal fluorescent tube 1 by resilient supporting bars 8 which engage the upper edges of the lateral walls 2 and by projections 5, 5a on the inner edges of the laminµ 3, the projections 5a being adapted to be arranged above the middle plane of the tube 1 to assist in clamping the screen to the tube. The screen comprises walls 2 having rectangular openings 18 and the bars 8 have bent ends 7 engaging in slots in the walls 2. In an alternative construction the openings in the walls 2 are of parabolic form, and a screw at the centre of each bar 8 makes contact with and spaces the bar 8 from the upper surface of the tube 1. In a further construction the openings in the walls 2 are of flattened arch form and the resilient bars have inwardly turned ends engaging inclined surfaces beneath projections on the walls 2, so that the clamping action of the bars may be varied by sliding their ends along said inclined surfaces. A projection provided underneath the middle of each bar rests on the upper surface of the fluorescent tube. |
