DISPLAY APPARATUS AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF

A display device and a control method thereof are provided to control the transparency of a sub-screen in a PIP(Picture In Picture) screen. When a PIP function is selected by using a menu key of a user selection member(S10), a control member processes the first and second video signals so that the processed signals are displayed on a display member as the main and sub screens(S11). If the second video signal is not inputted(S12), the control member increases the transparency of the sub screen with a predetermined level(S13). The control member discriminates whether the second video signal corresponding to the sub screen is continuously inputted(S14). If the second video signal is inputted, the control member increases the display tone of the sub screen and returns the transparency of the sub screen(S15).
