An apparatus and a method for switching an OSD(On Screen Display) language in a multi-sound receiving system are provided to automatically display the OSD language corresponding to the transmission type of multi-sound broadcasting by automatically switching and displaying the OSD language according to a voltage level of an input power. A power sensor(28) senses a level of power voltage of a system. An OSD block(30) creates an OSD language using predetermined first or second languages. A signal processor signal-processes video and audio signals of a multi-sound broadcasting signal from a tuner. The signal processor compounds the OSD language and the video signal to output the compound signal. A controller compares whether the sensed level of power voltage is equal to a reference voltage level, and then controls the OSD block to switch the predetermined first or second languages into the OSD language.
