A caption data detecting apparatus of a digital TV is provided to store the caption data by means of another mobile storage medium of the digital TV or a memory of a set top box. An analog tuner(101) receives ground wave analog broadcasting. A caption engine(102) collects and processes the caption data from a channel signal tuned by the analog broadcasting signal. A tuner(103) receives the digital broadcasting. A de-multiplexing member(104) de-multiplexes the multiplexed digital broadcasting signal. A caption engine(105) collects and processes the caption data from the de-multiplexed digital broadcasting signal. A central processing unit(106) stores the collected analog or digital caption data in a memory member(108) and controls the transmission of the caption data toward an external storage medium. A key input member(107) requests the channel tuning and the caption data storing. An electronic album central processing unit(110) receives the caption data from the central processing unit. A memory card(111) stores the caption data transmitted from the central processing unit.
