An electronic memory device and an operation method thereof are provided to shorten or extend a refresh time of memory cells in a temperature-dependent mode if a temperature-independent schedule cycle of a reference clock signal for refreshing the memory calls is received. Each memory device(10) has multiple non-volatile memory cells refreshed when the electronic memory device is operated. A control unit(5) transfers a reference cyclic clock signal to each memory device and the clock signal is guided to make the memory cells refreshed in the memory devices. Each temperature sensor(8) is assigned to each memory device and measures local temperature of each memory device. Each memory device individually determines the number of memory cells to be refreshed at the same time based on the temperature measured by each temperature sensor in case that the memory cells are refreshed.
