Provided is a hair styling appliance having a vibrating portion and a backing portion, thereby preventing user's hairs from being widely dispersed by ultrasonic vibration of a vibrating portion. An appliance(11) has a vibrating portion(13) and a backing portion(17). The vibrating portion has a vibrator(14) generating ultrasonic vibration and an ultrasonic vibrating horn(15) having a contact end portion(15a) coming into contact with user's hairs and a mounting end portion(15b) equipped with the vibrator. The contact end portion and mounting end portion are disposed on both surfaces of the ultrasonic vibrating horn. The ultrasonic vibrating horn amplifies the ultrasonic vibration of the vibrator installed on the mounting end portion, and transmits the amplified ultrasonic vibration to the contact end portion.
