LUMINESCENT APPARATUS FOR BACK LIGHT

A light emitting device for backlight is provided to avoid the loss of light radiated to a short shaft direction by using an asymmetrical convex lens or a fresnel lens in a light emitting device using a light emitting diode chip. A lens is prepared in which one shaft on a horizontal surface of a light emitting diode chip(510) and the other shaft perpendicular to the one shaft form an orientation angle. A light guiding plate is positioned in a region adjacent to the lens. The lens can be an asymmetrical convex lens(550) or a fresnel lens. The orientation angle of the one shaft is not lower than 130 degrees, and the orientation angle of the other shaft is not higher than 50 degrees.
