A liquid droplet ejection method, a head unit, a liquid droplet ejection device, an electro-optical device, and electronic equipment are provided to decrease a total printing time and prevent a generation of a stain on a formed layer. A liquid droplet ejection method discharges the liquid droplet of a functional liquid on a substrate with relatively scanning the substrate and an ejection head. The liquid droplet ejection method discharges functional liquid of different types having different drying speeds on positions different scan directions among the same scans and at least a portion of each scan region is overlapped in the functional liquid of different types.
