A recording medium, a data reproducing method, a data reproducing apparatus, a data storing method, and a data storing apparatus are provided to regulate the connection between a recording medium and a persistent storage related to the recording medium and protect contents provided by an authentic contents provider and a reproducing system of a user. A persistent storage(15) stores data related to a recording medium. A reader reads the data from the recording medium and the persistent storage(15). A controller(12) identifies a predetermined area of the persistent storage(15), where data to be reproduced is stored, by using a contents provider identification information and contents identification information stored in the recording medium. The controller(12) controls an application, which includes the persistent storage(15) as a resource, to access the identified area of the persistent storage(15). The controller(12) reproduces the data according to execution of the application.
