A self-luminescent liquid crystal display device is provided to have a UV(Ultraviolet) filter for inhibiting the ultraviolet rays, thereby preventing the excitation of a light emitting layer. A back light(11) generates the blue light. A liquid crystal layer(14) modulates the light from the back light. A pixel switching member(13) drives the liquid crystal layer by pixels. A light emitting layer(17) emits the light by the blue light from the back light. The first polarizing member(12) is positioned between the pixel switching member and the back light. The second polarizing member(15) and a blue dichroic(16) mirror are positioned between the liquid crystal layer and the light emitting layer.
