A plasma display device and a method for handling the same are provided to perform a module forming work or a module loading work in a stable state without forming an additional coupling boss coupled with an auxiliary supporter at a chassis base. A panel(10) includes two substrates having a plurality of electrodes formed on opposing inner surfaces, a barrier rib installed between the substrates, and discharge gas. A chassis(130) is installed at a backside of the panel. A drive circuit applies a signal to the electrodes. A peripheral part of the chassis is extended to the outside in comparison with a peripheral part of the panel. A flat supporting side(133) is formed on an end of the peripheral part of the chassis.
