<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain oyster meat essence containing copper in a form to be readily absorbed into the body from oyster meat. <P>SOLUTION: Oyster meat is acidified to pH about 2 with hydrochloric acid to extract an acid-soluble fraction from the oyster meat. An extracted solution from which the oyster meat is removed is neutralized with sodium hydroxide to give a precipitate. Zinc exists in a bonded state to a peptide in the precipitate. The neutralized extracted solution is desalted by ion exchange, the obtained liquid is heated and water is evaporated to give powdery oyster meat essence containing a relatively large amount of copper. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
