An apparatus for confirming mounting of a disc in an optical disc player is provided to offer convenience to a user and reduce unnecessary power consumption by easily confirming whether the disc is mounted at an internal side in the outside in a state when power is turned off. A confirmation window(110) is formed in a case. The first pulley(241) is formed in the center of a loading motor(230). The second pulley(245) is formed in a position horizontally opposite to the first pulley(241). A disc mounting confirmation belt(243) mutually connects the second pulley(245) with the first pulley(241). A mounting indicating unit(120) is formed in the disc mounting confirmation belt(243). If a disc is loaded, the mounting indicating unit(120) indicates mounting of the disc through the confirmation window(110). A non-mounting indicating unit(122) is formed in the disc mounting confirmation belt(243). If the disc is unloaded, the non-mounting indicating unit(122) indicates the non-mounting of the disc through the confirmation window(110). A pickup driving unit senses that the disc is mounted after a tray is inserted. A control unit drives and controls the loading motor(230) according to a disc mounting sensing signal of the pickup driving unit, and rotates the first pulley(241).
