A doorstop has a door retaining rod (1) passing through the retaining piece (2). The door-retaining rod (1) has a bearing eye (6), and at the other end an abutment (9). The abutment (9), which forms the limit stop corresponding to the open position of the door, is of integral T-shaped design. The retaining piece (2) comprises a housing formed of a first housing part (30) and a second housing part (32); said first housing part (30) has a first cushion (34) thereon, said second housing part (32) has a second cushion (34) thereon. The cushions (34) are of an elastic material and are integrated into the upper end of the housing, against which cushions the abutment (9) resiliently strikes when the door is in the open position.
