A device for activating/deactivating an IC card with fingerprint recognition is provided to prevent the IC card from being illegally used by other users, as a user directly activates or deactivates the IC card of the user by using an activating/deactivating function of the IC card. The device includes a fingerprint recognition sensor(110), an interface(120), a controller(130), and a power supply(140). The interface exchanges data with the IC card storing fingerprint information data of the user and an activating/deactivating trigger. The controller transfers fingerprint recognition data received from the fingerprint recognition sensor to the IC card through the interface, receives a determination result from the IC card by comparing the stored fingerprint information data with the received fingerprint recognition data, and outputs a trigger signal to be transferred to the IC card through the interface based on the determination result. The trigger signal is an activating, deactivating, or state changing signal. |
