A laser diode driving apparatus for a laser display is provided to perform fine control of brightness by dual-controlling the brightness according to duty cycle of laser modulation and the amplitude of a driving signal. A laser diode driving apparatus includes a laser diode(LD1) and a D/A converter(10) generating a modulation signal having variable duty for main control of brightness control and variable amplitude for fine control of brightness with an input driving signal. An amplifier part(30) includes an operational amplifier(U1), and amplifies the input driving signal with a gain appropriate for driving the laser diode. A switching part(40) comprises a switching transistor(Q1) turning on and off the laser diode by the driving signal amplified in the amplifier part, and generates a laser pulse train. |
