A DVD(Digital Versatile Disk) recording/reproducing apparatus capable of recognizing an RF ID(Radio Frequency IDentification) tag and an automatic contents reproducing method using the RF ID tag are provided to automatically reproduce corresponding contents according to the RF ID tag in the DVD recording/reproducing apparatus by mounting a reader capable of recognizing the RF ID tag in the DVD recording/reproducing apparatus and attaching the RF ID tag including contents reproduction list information to specific goods possessed by an old person or a child. A DVD-RW(Digital Versatile Disc-Rewritable) unit(115) reproduces multimedia contents data stored in an optical disc and an HDD(Hard Disk Drive) mounted in a loader according to certain control. An RF ID reader unit(120) recognizes an RF ID tag approached within a uniform range, and detects contents reproduction list information included in the RF ID tag. When the contents reproduction list information included in the RF ID tag detected from the RF ID reader unit(120) is received, a microcomputer(112) retrieves and reads contents data included in a reproduction list from the optical disc or the HDD mounted in the loader, and successively and automatically reproduces the corresponding contents data according to the list through the DVD-RW unit(115).
