An elevator system without a machine room is provided to improve the operation safety and the comfortableness of the elevator by dispersing and reducing vibration and noise generated when the elevator is operated. An elevator system without a machine room includes an elevator car, a counter-weight, a rope, a drive unit, a winder support(30), at least one pulley(14,16), and a pulley support(40,50). The drive unit includes a sheeve and a winder for driving the sheeve. The winder support includes a holder and at least one support. The pulley is connected to the winder support to guide movement of the rope between the sheeve and the counter-weight. The pulley support supports at least one of the pulleys and includes at least one support installed in an elevation passage.
