Provided is a release film which is excellent in smoothness, is free from blocking and the generation of slip during process and is useful as a release film for molding a ceramic green sheet with minimized deviation of thickness. The release film is obtained by coating a releasing layer comprising a curing silicone resin on at least one surface of a polyester base film, wherein the kinetic friction coefficient (K, %) obtained by the mathematical formula represented by kinetic friction coefficient (K, %) = (X-Y)/X Î 100 has a value of 10-80 %, wherein X is a kinetic friction coefficient (ASTM D 1894) measured at 23 deg.C and a R.H. of 50% after 10 min from the final drying process in the coating process of a releasing film; and Y is a kinetic friction coefficient (ASTM D 1894) measured at 23 deg.C and a R.H. of 50% after a day from the drying process.
