A portable terminal having an alarm mode and an alarm method thereof are provided to offer effect in which a plurality of alarms are set up by allowing a user to set only one alarm and offer convenience to the user by actively setting a delay time for ringing a re-alarm. A control unit(100) outputs an alarm signal, and determines whether to set a delay time. When it is determined that the delay time is set up, the control unit(100) receives the delay time, delays the alarm signal by the received delay time, and outputs the alarm signal again. A keypad(104) allows a user to input the delay time.
