A control device for an audio device and a method therefor are provided to control an operation of an audio by using a mobile device by connecting the mobile device with the audio and setting operating keys of the audio to be identical to keys of the mobile device. A key input unit(225) receives a keypad input signal of a mobile device(220) set up corresponding to each function key of an audio device(210). A key code unit(223) stores function key code information of the audio device(210) corresponding to a key signal received in the key input unit(225). An interface unit(222) retrieves the function key code of the audio device(210) corresponding to the received key signal from the key code unit(223), and transmits a control signal corresponding to the retrieved key code to the audio device(210).
