METHOD FOR DETECTING MISSING NOZZLES IN A INKJET PRINTER

A method for detecting missing nozzles in an ink-jet printer is provided to reduce manufacturing cost by enhancing the resolution through an existing optical sensor instead of usinf a high-performance optical sensor. A method for detecting missing nozzles in an ink-jet printer includes the steps of: printing a first test pattern by grouping nozzles according to a scanning resolution(S300); detecting the group under a critical value by scanning the printed first test pattern(S310); printing a second test pattern by grouping the nozzles of the groups under the critical value with nozzles of adjacent groups(S330); detecting the groups under the critical value by scanning the printed second test pattern(S340); and determining missing nozzles from the detected results(S350).
