An organic electro luminescence element and a method for driving the same are provided to prevent generation of a bright line on a panel by discharging data lines to a requested level through a sub discharging unit. A method for driving an organic electro luminescence element includes the steps of: applying a first data current to data lines corresponding to a scan line connected to the n(integer below m)th ground; discharging the data lines for a discharging time and a sub discharging time; applying a second data current to the data lines corresponding to a scan line connected to the (n+1)th ground; and discharging the data lines for the discharging time. Wherein the scan line connected to the nth ground is the m th scan line, and the scan line connected to the (n+1)th ground is the first scan line. |
