CORDYCEPIN SHOWING ANTIVIRAL EFFECT AGAINST CORONAVIRUS

A material, cordycepin, showing the antiviral effect against coronavirus is provided to treat diseases caused by coronavirus with reduced toxicity and side effects. The material, cordycepin, showing the antiviral effect against coronavirus, represented by the formula(1) is provided, wherein the cordycepin is isolated from Paecilomyces japonica or chemically synthesized by conventional organic synthesis. An antiviral composition comprises the cordycepin or its pharmaceutically acceptable salt as an effective ingredient, wherein the coronavirus is porcine coronavirus, canine coronavirus, bovine coronavirus or SARS(severe acute respiratory syndrome) virus; the dosage of the effective ingredient is 1-50mg/kg per day; and the composition is formulated as tablet, troches, lozenge, water-soluble or oily suspension, powder, granule, emulsion, hard or soft capsule, syrup or elixirs.
