An image signal processing apparatus and an image signal processing method are provided to calculate a color level signal for an application of a dynamic range. An output signal outputted from an image device is inputted to a pixel signal processing device(10). The output signal is an analog signal and an analog processing such as a signal amplification is performed by the pixel signal processing device. The processed signal is outputted to a DSP(Digital Signal Process) member(20). The DSP performs the image process including an automatic control of focus or exposure and the like. The image-processed pixel signal is calculated as occasion demands and returned to the pixel signal processing device.
