An apparatus and a method for direct printing in an N-up display mode are provided to remove additional key setting for printing an image by printing an image of a selected area in a state in which an adjusted shape of image is displayed. In an image forming apparatus, an image processing unit(130) adjusts a display mode of print data on a display unit on which the print data is displayed. A user interface unit(120) receives the display mode. An image forming unit(150) forms an image of the selected area of the displayed print data.
