APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR COMPENSATING GRAY SCALE, AND DISPLAY DEVICE HAVING THE SAME

A gray scale value correction method, a correction circuit, and a display device having the same are provided to reduce the size of an LUT(Look-Up Table) by storing only a measured gray scale value corresponding to necessary points in the LUT and computing the rest measured gray scale values by an operation. A gray scale value correction method includes steps of setting a reference value; comparing a set reference value with a value corresponding to the difference between a gray scale value(G(n)) of the present frame and a gray scale value(G(n-1)) of the previous frame; and outputting one of the gray scale value of the present frame and a corrected gray scale value(G'(n)) on the basis of the comparison result.
